Server Transfer Mystery

On his Attention, site transfer 19 March - Monday - Wensday, ourdoll1 stated, "{Our Doll Community} will still be up, but anything posted during that time most likely will not be kept."

The Our Doll Community forum uses Simple Machines Forum software, Coppermine Photo Gallery software, and Ajax Chat software. All three of these depend on a relational database, most likely MySQL, to store the information for these software packages.

Every word, every picture link, and the structure of the forum and gallery are contained in a database. There is a database for the forum and chat, and a second database for the gallery. The pictures in the gallery are all separate files. From what we have been told, all of the software files, and the two databases, were transferred to the new server on March 19. Once the web host changed the 'pointers' to the new server, the original files became inactive on the internet and the files copied to the new server became active. This is why the forum posts disappeared, and the gallery seems to be time-locked back to March 19.

Assuming that the original software files and databases are still intact, your pictures are still there. If those pictures that were uploaded after March 19 can be transferred to the new server location, then you will not have to upload them again.

If the old databases can be transferred to the new server, then we should get most, if not all of the forum posts back. The newer galleries created after March 19 should also come back.

Be warned that if the old databases can be transferred to the new server, anything written on the forum since the switch-over (sometime on April 18, 2018) including this post, will be lost. I do have a text file backup of it on my local computer.

New information
Nothing has been lost!!!

It does appear that both sets of files, on the old server and the new server, are active. It depends on the URL that you use to access the forum, chat, and the gallery.
The files at "http://ourdollcommunity.com" appear to be those that were copied to the new server on March 19.
The files at "http://www.ourdollcommunity.com" appear to be the original files with all of the posts up to April 18, 2018

If you access the forum with this URL, you get one page.
http://ourdollcommunity.com/forum/index.php <-- no "www."
This is the new server where the files were copied on March 19

If you access the forum with this URL, you get a different page.
http://www.ourdollcommunity.com/forum/index.php <- with the  "www."
This is the old server where all of the posts are, up to sometime on April 18

Examples:
The Art Gallery at
http://ourdollcommunity.com/forum/index.php?board=25.0 <-- no "www."
shows the March 2018 Photo Challenge on top.

The Art Gallery at
http://www.ourdollcommunity.com/forum/index.php?board=25.0 <- with the  "www."
shows the April 2018 Photo Challenge on top.

For the gallery, this URL will show 21 pages of albums, the last one is Rdhj
http://ourdollcommunity.com/gallery/index.php?cat=1 <-- no "www."

For the gallery, this URL will show 22 pages of albums, the last one is workallday
http://www.ourdollcommunity.com/gallery/index.php?cat=1 <-- with the "www."

Chat
http://ourdollcommunity.com/forum/chat/index.php <-- no "www."

Chat
http://www.ourdollcommunity.com/forum/chat/index.php <-- with the "www."

I wrote this post earlier on the  "Announcements" board:
http://ourdollcommunity.com/forum/index.php?board=38.0 <-- no "www."
     It does not appear at:
http://www.ourdollcommunity.com/forum/index.php?board=38.0 <-- with the "www."

I did this on my Windows 7 computer with Internet Explorer 11. Z-Dr was in one of the chat rooms with Windows 10 and Internet Explorer 11. I spammed Ceej's picture with two links:
http://ourdollcommunity.com/gallery/albums/userpics/Flower_Painting_s_3JPG.jpg
http://www.ourdollcommunity.com/gallery/albums/userpics/Flower_Painting_s_3JPG.jpg
The first link gave me a black "x", but the second one showed the Flower Girl picture. Z-Dr could not see the picture on either link.

"Scooby Doo, we got some work to do!"

I logged out of the forum and chat from Internet Explorer and logged back in with Chrome on Windows 7. I saw the same things that Z-Dr saw earlier. Tomorrow I will repeat the experiment on Feodora's Windows 10 computer.

TPE Owners / Re: Mayfair Porn - Naughty Japanese Lady OR156H

Haremlover,

If there is one thing that this doll needs, it would be some color on the nipples and areola. Other doll owners state that they originally bought their doll for sex, only to find that they are much more than just sex toys. This doll shows promise of meeting those needs as well.

:) ;) :)

Haremlover,

Nice review! This ought to spark some interest for both current and prospective doll owners.

The Irontech dolls do have a lot to offer! With all of the dolls on the market today, choosing just one is getting to be a harder task. New doll buyers have a lot of homework to do!

Among the fashion for larger figure dolls, Irontech's grabs interest:

She says she certainly doesn't want to get pregnant, so don't try

but fancies herself as a model

This line of dolls is going to be particularly interesting on account of new skeleton joints which . . . .

allow full kneeling as these photos above.

There's a great deal that forum members can help manufacturers with as many photographers just don't know how to take photos of dolls

and make them come alive. That blank stare.

Turning eyes sideways

makes such a difference in them starting to come alive.

Best wishes

TPE Owners / Mayfair Porn - Naughty Japanese Lady OR156H

I never normally do porn. But the OR156H is a classic of all larger figure dolls and with the Japanese face from OR is so . . . naughty . . .

TPE Owners / SY doll 165 review
« Last post by Haremlover on April 18, 2018, 01:25:33 PM »
A couple of years ago I discovered a new brand of doll, the photos of which blew me over. As a result of this I started helping Vivian of Vivid Doll, and reviewed samples of the new brand dolls coming out of China. This introduced me to the circle of TPE manufacturers and I've been taking an interest in them and new products coming along, helping where necessary to advise on improvements in the interests of seeing dolls of increasing quality come forward of which people can be proud and which will be admired rather than derided.

For this reason I was curious about SY, Shengyi dolls, and someone noticed a remarkable similarity between one of their dolls and another being brought forward by a major brandname. Whether or not there's a connexion remains to be seen, but reviewing the 165 small breast model was interesting, a particular joy to photograph.

She's certainly capable of being among my favourite of TPE dolls.

Wrists are hinged, ankles are properly adjusted for standing, indeed all the joints are adjusted well for posing and as I'd expect, and the hands rotate in both directions properly and beyond the limits of the Jinsan dolls.

I really wanted to test the skeleton to the limits.

She's not a top of the line priced TPE doll and as such, her feet sculpture

and lack of detail on her hands is acceptable.

She's a fine figure

and at 36kg a good balance between weight and size realism.

with a distinct character

together with desires wanting to be satisfied.

I did an unboxing review https://youtu.be/AYobKAqGqrk intended also as an introduction to new doll owners as to what to look for and how to handle, and stand, the doll.

Best wishes

noxster,

Welcome to the Arimecibo Island Forum! Think of this as an island getaway with a tropical island vibe. There are two "General Discussion" boards here. This one on the Main Street category is for active discussions. The one down in the Archived Items category are for those that are inactive, but members might want to see them. I moved your topic up here where it will be easier to find.

Everybody was new at this once, so do not worry about making a few mistakes. It takes time to get used to new software, so there are a few tutorials on the Tech Talk board. Look around, get to know the place, and stop by the Leisure Time category. Take your shoes off, stretch out in a hammock, and relax!
