Website format change
« on: November 05, 2019, 08:52:05 AM »
Effective January 1, 2020 the http://www.arimecibo.com website will have a change in format. Nudity will no longer be allowed on this website. This includes the Arimecibo Island Forum, the Magnus Bay Colony Forum, and the galleries for both. The User Agreement ("Terms of Service") will be updated to reflect this change. By continuing to use this website, all current and future members will be bound by the new User Agreement.

Current members are asked to remove nude pictures from their galleries and forum posts. Nude pictures that remain after January 1, 2020 will be removed by the website owner (noquiexis).

In keeping with the new format, references links to other doll-related websites will be removed where possible*. It is my intention to transform this entire website into a "family friendly" and "work safe" environment.

It was never my intention to allow nudity on this website. I only did so when the Our Doll Community website went dark in November 2016. My original intent for this website was to make a backup for the Personal Web Pages that my Internet Service Provider used to offer. They discontinued that policy years ago. Had Our Doll Community not experienced problems staying online, this website would not have launched until January 1, 2016.

I was made aware of, and began to support Dressember in late 2017. Dressember is one of many organizations that work to eliminate human slavery and sex trafficking. Maintaining a website that promotes the soft pornography of naked dolls (representative of naked humans) is inconsistent with my work to support anti-sex-trafficking. Doing so is hypocritical.

My four-year subscription to the current web host (WebHopstingPad) runs out in November 2020. When that happens I will be moving the website to a new web host. I do not want to be bound by the "Adult Content' restriction imposed by some web hosts.

WebHopstingPad has found new and creative ways to restrict my use of my own website. Most recently I have been (temporarily) IP blocked by "the server firewall" (a phony excuse if you ask me) almost anytime I access the gallery or try to upload new pictures. In addition to that, WebHopstingPad (and consequently http://www.arimecibo.com) has been blacklisted by a few web hosts as  porn web host. Some here have never received any of the e-mails sent out by the forum. This includes the registration activation e-mail.

This is a very low-traffic website. Most of the time when I log into the forums, I am the only one logged in, with maybe 3 guests, if any. If anyone desires to leave the website, they wont miss much.

*  It will be nigh impossible to remove every reference to other doll-related websites (including forums, manufacturers, and vendors). Links to these will be edited out, or a warning will be placed on the page where the link exists.

Registration for the Magnus Bay Colony Forum will be by Admin only, and the links to that part of the website will be removed from the website landing page (http://www.arimecibo.com). That part of the website was originally intended to be a teastbed to try out new software without affecting the active forum, gallery, and chat.

I assume that 'doll-related websites' includes vendors and manufacturers. What will be the policy for discussions of dolls and doll features? For example, I recently noticed (again) that the most recent product from Teddy Babes is their Ultra doll with more (than their previous dolls) 'realistic' faces (and other features that facilitate sexual use). Would that be a topic that you would allow to be discussed in posts?

For the most part, "doll-related websites" include those that support forums. Discussions (on this website) of the sexual nature and use of dolls will be prohibited. I repeat, "It is my intention to transform this entire website into a "family friendly" and "work safe" environment."

Our Doll Community (as an example) once billed itself as a 'soft-porn' forum. The day that they allowed doll-on-doll sex it became hard-core porn. Those involved argued that it was OK since no humans were involved. That excuse will never fly here.

I do realize that most people who buy life-sized dolls do so with the intent of using their dolls for sex. The policy change here will severely limit what they can show and discuss. Some members may choose to leave this website, but most are already members of other forums.

Manufacturers' websites will be linked, but warnings will be posted that any off-site links may contain inappropriate material. Product reviews will be limited to the non-sexual aesthetics, joint function, and durability of the construction materials.

It should be noted that any art museum in the world may have depictions of the female breast and male (but usually not female) genitalia. There are some who will not attend art museums, or take young children there, for that very reason.

Those who collect small dolls ('toys' and 'collectables') may stumble onto this website. While it is not my intention to invite them, they will be advised that this website primarily is for life-sized dolls.

I don't mean to nitpick, but I am curious about boundaries. I've seen some recent photos posted here of a particular doll clothed, but in clearly 'non-business' attire.

I am 'currently mostly' out of the activity of photographing my dolls. If I do 'get back into it', my model will almost certainly be my newest doll, a 4woods S+. I've got several 'outfits' that I have used previously to photograph my other dolls. These outfits do not reveal genitalia or nipples but are clearly for 'glamour' photography. What will be the policy for bikinis, lingerie, and a particularly notorious little black dress? What about 'suggestive' poses along the lines of clothed photos that in the past appeared in Playmate of the Month pictorials?

odc061210,

It is possible that a doll may be fully clothed, but that clothing is of 'questionable' taste. Although I intend to bring up the publishing standard for the website, there will be things that may be difficult to challenge. People may still try to push the limits of what I may define as 'sexually suggestive'.

The website is only three years old, but there is considerable material to review. At least two members admit that they hardly ever visit the website, so it will take time to clean up the forums and galleries.

Beginning on December 10, I started cleaning up my own posts. I do not do nude photography, but there are a few of my photos that show 'compromising positions'. They will be removed from the gallery and my posts. For my posts that were originally at Our Doll Community, I had links back to that original post. Those links have been removed. Some links to manufacturers and vendors remain, but warnings have been posted on those pages about explicit content off-site.

Some posts were removed to the Trash Bin and may eventually be deleted entirely. Either they dealt with the original forum setup, or pertained directly to other doll-related websites. A couple were those that were entirely religious in nature, or discussion of the same.

Links to the Magnus Bay Colony forum, gallery, and chat will be removed from the website landing page (http://www.arimecibo.com). That portion of the website will remain as a testbed for trying out software updates. Anyone who is a member there, but not at the Arimecibo Island Forum (or Gallery) will be advised of this change.

SMF 2.1 has been in beta testing forever (or so it seems). I set up a WAMP testbed on my Windows 10 computer for a 'first look' at SMF 2.1 RC2.* The most significant change will be that the Actors and Musicians avatars have been removed. One of the SMF coders cited licensing problems of using those images. "Glow" , "Drop Shadow" , and "Marquee" formatting (and others) have been removed. Whether or not they make a comeback 'in the final reel' is anybody's guess.

*  This is a Release Candidate, not a final release. It is still in development and testing. SMF 2.1 is not yet recommended for use on production sites.

I tried to do for the best concerning my publications. Although there is no nudity images in my galleries because I personally consider this as a private part.
The limit was also for me in lingerie or swimsuit. But these photos were not shown here because it seemed to me that it would not be appropriate.
My ladies are more like "fashion dolls" and models for trying to progress in photography.

Regarding Loryanne, her high weight and the fact that it is not desirable to force her arms in an upright position impose special features to dress her.
Including the fact that she can only wear strapless or thin straps dresses and tops.
I hope that this will not be embarrassing. :undecided2:

incred and Camp (who may not be around here much lately and are definitely 'over there') can give you more expert advice on dressing Loryanne for a shoot.

But I have three suggestions:
- Slip any dress that opens in the back on from feet up. Pull the dress over her hips. Put her hands into long sleeves when the dress is at hip level. or ...
- Rip the back seam. Hold that seam together with safety pins or velcro while shooting.
- For clothing like sweaters that must go on over her head ... Remove her head while dressing her. (On my 4woods dolls that are somewhat similar to Sins, the plastic neck post also unscrews to get it out of the way.) Position both her arms forward and slip the clothing up her arms first and then over the headless neck.

Thank you odc061210 for these good tips ! ;)

The easiest thing I have found for the moment is to pass her clothes from the bottom when she's on her stand.

odc061210,

     From: Hello!!

I'm still interested in understanding what content will be acceptable under the soon-to-be-implemented policy.
Pretty dolls in bikinis here, albeit not posed suggestively.
And a link to a vid that generates a Content Warning.
Will similar posts continue to be accepted?

I did not view the YouTube link, but if it comes with a Content Warning, then that should be enough. It will be nigh impossible to remove every off-site link that contains explicit material. Any adult doll-related forum that does not contain links to the doll manufacturers is not worth much. Such links will be accompanied by warnings.

There will always be those who want to 'push the envelope' of what is acceptable, hence the "no nudity" absolute. Any art museum in the world has some depiction of the female breast, but allowing them here will lead to arguments of judgment calls.

If you are still unclear of what "family friendly" and "work safe" means, ask yourself what you would want your family to see. Some people have children of their own, nieces, nephews, maybe grandchildren. If you would be ashamed to show them this website, then you have your answer.

:) :) :)

Beginning 10 Dec 2019, I cleaned up my own forum posts to meet the new format standard. Beginning 1 Jan 2020, I did the same for all of the posts on the forum. On 3 Jan 2020, I cleaned out my albums in the Arimecibo Island Photo Gallery. I did not delete any other members' albums or photos. I did set other members' albums to "Me Only" viewing for those members. You may not see your own albums until you are logged into the gallery. Once you have removed the nude and / or sexually suggestive photos from your albums, you may reset viewing to "Everybody". As with the forum posts, these pictures will not remain forever. It would be wise to delete such material yourself.
